I. Lord God Almighty, who hast made all peoples of the earth for thy glory, to serve thee in freedom and peace: Grant to the people of our country a zeal for justice and the strength of forbearance, that we may use our liberty in accordance with thy gracious will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
II. The Collect for Independence Day may be used instead.
God our Father, you have given us in abundance that we might give you praise and serve all your people in love. Accept these gifts we bring for the salvation of all the world, and help us to live in love as you have commanded. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Or this:
Lord God, accept these gifts we bring to this altar; and teach us the wisdom of the gospel which leads to true justice and lasting peace. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
